's own has delivered a critical update on his potential comeback to the dance floor after a forced absence last weekend due to injury.

The face of DIY SOS found himself in a tight spot after suffering a bizarre injury following the inaugural Strictly Live show last month, with his woes compounded by another significant setback. He sustained an extra knock during rehearsals last week, throwing his performance with professional dance partner Luba Mushtuk for Movie Week into uncertainty.

During a revealing chat on the It Takes Two spin-off programme, Nick cast doubt over his return this Saturday. With Luba by his side, he confessed to host Janette Manrara that his fate on the dance series remains undecided.

Faced with probing from Janette, who inquired about any "updates", Nick demystified his condition saying: "Each day gets a little bit better. On Friday it looked pretty bad, to be honest and it felt bad. On Saturday it was not so good but I had a scan and after that, we decided that we would wait until Monday to see if it got any better."

Nick elaborated further: "Monday was a little bit stronger and today I got to see the physios and I've had help from all the rehab and physio and doctors and they have given me clearance to try and dance tomorrow to train. If I train tomorrow then it might not necessarily be the end of it."

Janette enquired: "I've been told that you're going to get some kind of final clearance on Friday. Are you still going to wait and see what happens tomorrow and Friday before you know about Saturday?"

Nick replied: "Absolutely. We will see how I do tomorrow and that's all I can say right now."

His dance partner Luba quickly chimed in with excitement: "Today has already been a big day because we got the clearance to rehearse tomorrow."

Continuing with cautious optimism she added: "Tomorrow we will try and go gentle and try what we can and can't do so we will just see."

Subsequently, it was disclosed if Nick and Lube manage to hit the dance floor this weekend, they will bring to life their originally scheduled performance from last week, a Charleston inspired by the beloved children's figure Paddington Bear.
