struggled to grapple with farming machinery during a surprise trip to 's farm during the two-week break ahead of the .
While some of his F1 counterparts have been soaking up the sun on the other side of the world, Piastri paid a visit to Diddly Squat, the farm owned by Clarkson, made popular by the Amazon Prime series, Clarkson's Farm.
The two-time Grand Prix winner posed with Clarkson and his beloved farm assistant Kaleb Cooper for photos, while also trying his hand at some of the day-to-day activities that they complete. One of these was reversing a tractor, and it didn't quite go to plan.
In a video posted to X, Clarkson said: "Hello, I'm Jeremy Clarkson and behind me in that tractor - you can see it there - is Oscar. And we wanted to see if he could reverse that trailer into that slot in the barn.
"How long has he been doing it? 40 minutes?" Cooper then chimed in: "He's done 40 minutes now. I thought you said he was a driver?"
This coaxed a laugh out of Clarkson, who continued: "Your tractor is going to run out of diesel before he's... I mean look at... come on Oscar! No... he's c***ed that up. Even I can see in the reverse shot that he's c***ed it up."
Piastri's mother even got in on the act of teasing her son. She commented: "Clarkson's Farm is grandad's favorite show Osc. He will be so excited to watch this ep!! (we just won't tell him about your trailer-backing skills - or lack thereof)."
Former Top Gear and Grand Tour presenter Clarkson landed himself in hot water with portions of the F1 community earlier this week when he labelled Lewis Hamilton 'past his prime' while citing Max Verstappen as possibly the sport's greatest-ever driver.
"We learned two important things during last weekend's Grand Prix in Brazil," he wrote in his column for . "Well, three, if you count Lance Stroll, who crashed his freshly repaired car on the formation lap. And then drove it into a gravel tap.
"First of all, Max Verstappen is one of the all-time greats. He may even be the greatest driver we've ever seen. And second, Lewis Hamilton is past his prime. He blamed his car for his tail-end qualifying session but his team-mate, George Russell, was on the front row.
"Of course, it's possible that because Lewis is moving to Ferrari next year, the team are filling his fuel tank with lemon barley water instead of petrol. But that seems unlikely. It's far more probable that he's now too old."
