recalled the time he thought might be a "diva" as he reveals one thing that came as a major shock when they visited Africa together.

Writing in his tell-all memoir Spare, Harry shared that Meghan was low maintenance - including on a trip to Botswana that they took during the early stages of their romance.

Despite being an actress at the time, Meghan appeared to just focus on taking some of the essentials on the trip - something that even appeared to surprise Harry.

Harry, who first met Meghan in 2016, wrote: "She opened her small suitcase - she needed to get something."

He added: "Here it comes, I thought. The mirror, the hairdryer, the makeup kit, the fluffy duvet, the dozen pairs of shoes. I was shamefully stereotyping: American actress equals diva. To my shock, and delight, there was nothing in that suitcase but bare essentials. Shorts, ripped jeans, and snacks. And a yoga mat."

Meghan previously discussed how she was often referred to as a "diva" in her podcast series Archetypes back in 2022.

The 43-year-old, who previously appeared as Rachel Zane on the US drama Suits, admitted this comment left her "sweating".

Pop star Mariah Carey, who appeared as a guest on Archetypes, jokingly said that Meghan has "diva moments sometimes", to which Meghan then delved into the stereotype of a "diva".

Meghan, who married Harry in 2018, said: "That's really important for people to remember that there might be this persona, this diva thing we can play into. It's not something I connect to but for you, it's been a huge part."

Following this, Mariah responded: "You give us diva moments sometimes Meghan. Don't even act like." To which, Meghan replied: "What kind of diva moments do I give you?"

In a voiceover, Meghan explained her reaction to the remark, saying: "It stopped me in my tracks. When she called me a diva. You couldn't see me obviously, but I started to sweat a little bit. I started squirming in my chair in this quiet revolt like 'Wait? What?

"No what? How could you? That's not true. Why would you say that? My mind genuinely was just spinning with what nonsense she must have read or clicked on to make her say that."
