Prince Harry made a surprise solo appearance at a charity gala just hours after his video about online safety with Meghan Markle.

The Duke of Sussex attended the annual Tillman Honors Gala in Chicago to celebrate the Tillman Scholars and raise funds for the Tillman Scholar Program.

He participated in a group discussion with retired US Air Force Senior Master Sergeant Israel Del Toro, NFL legend Jake Plummer, and over 40 Tillman Scholars.

The Gala also honoured the NFL, the Arizona Cardinals, and TEK Systems for their support, and Action Tank, a Tillman Scholar-led organization, for their commitment to service and community betterment.

An auction raised over $300,000 (£232,240), and the event as a whole raised over $1 million (£770,000) for the Tillman Scholar Program.

This comes after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appeared in a video published on their Archewell Foundation website discussing the importance of addressing digital violence to prioritise children's safety.

Meghan said: "My husband and I recognise today's reality is marked by greater connectivity and advanced technology, which, of course, has many positives, but which also compels us to better understand how digital violence against children is manifesting itself in this age."

In the video, they are both seen wearing poppies in an act of remembrance for soldiers ahead of Remembrance Sunday tomorrow (November 10).

This was the first time the Sussexes have spoken since Mr Trump was reelected. Mr Trump returned to the White House at a time when 's visa application was being scrutinized.

A right-wing think tank called the Heritage Foundation launched a legal effort to make Harry's visa application public, but a US judge denied the request.

Earlier this year, Mr Trump said the previous administration had been "too gracious" to Harry. He added: "I wouldn't protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That's unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me."
