Princess Kate fans left speechless as they spot her celebrity doppelganger

is one of the most recognised faces in the world, given her royal status, and has been pictured as early as her university days when she first met Prince William.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were introduced to each other while studying at St Andrews in Scotland, where they began dating and she soon captured the hearts of the nation.

In 2010 the couple got engaged and married the following year, now having three children, Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

While Princess Kate has been compared to other high-profile figures in the past, there is one lesser-known celebrity doppelganger that the royal is said to resemble.

The spot was made a few years ago when comedian Keith Lemon shared an image of his wife Jill Carter, with royal fans making the uncanny comparison.

The TV personality - whose real name is - posted a tribute to his spouse to mark in 2019, and she certainly bears a resemblance to the future Queen.

Jill was pictured looking down, whilst her brunette curls - very similar to Kate's - framed her face. "Appy Valentine's Day beautiful lady," he jokingly wrote in the caption. "I would finish with my super hot French girlfriend for a bit of hang time with you. Whoever you are. DM me! I'm Keith Lemon from the telly x."

Beneath the post social media post royal fans were reportedly quick to notice just how similar the comedian's wife looks to Kate, with one writing: "Prince William might be jealous," and another commenting: "I thought it was ."

Keith and wife Jill have two children together and the Celebrity Juice star has been candid about their long-term relationship, often sharing kind words about his wife.

He previously told MailOnline: "Everyone thinks that we wake up and the comedy starts, but it's not like that. She sees the real me, the grumpy me.

"She holds it together for in the family, Jill is an amazing woman. She does everything, she is the best. I love everything about her. She is so special and is a brilliant mum to our kids."
