has reportedly been charged by police over allegations that he was caught speeding on two occasions.
It is also alleged that the controversial comic turned "committed Christian" did not reply to legal letters concerning the offences. According to the Standard, he was charged with two alleged counts of speeding and two further alleged counts of failing to communicate to police to confirm who had been driving the car.
The aforementioned publication reports that Nick "Mr Loophole" Freeman's law firm has been appointed to represent Brand to police and in the magistrates court hearings. It is understood that the case was dealt with in the single justice procedure but is seemingly heading to an open court hearing.
According to the Standard, a Freeman & Co Solicitors lawyer requested for no pleas to be entered against any of the charges, with a letter continuing: "Should the court not be satisfied with no pleas being entered then we would ask for preliminary not guilty pleas to be taken for ALL FOUR charges."
Brand and a representative for Thames Valley Police have both been approached for comment. Separately, Brand has also been accused of alleged abuse and rape over historic sexual encounters, which is being dealt with by the Met Police force.
He has strongly denied all accusations made against him.
He also responded by saying that, although he was extremely "promiscuous" in his younger years, his relationships had only ever been "absolutely always consensual".
The comic then claimed he'd faced a "litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks" in the wake of the claims.
He questioned whether there was a sinister "agenda" driving the sex abuse accusations, but declined to mention who he was referring to.
He stated: "During that time of promiscuity the relationships I had were absolutely, always consensual.
"I was always transparent about that then, almost too transparent, and I am being transparent about it now as well.
"To see that transparency metastasised into something criminal, that I absolutely deny, makes me question: is there another agenda at play?" he asked.
Meanwhile, Brand - who has reinvented himself since his acting and reality TV days as a conspiracy theorist and committed Christian - was sighted on social media wearing a Make America Great Again-style hat, but with the words: "Make Jesus First Again".
