The captains were left stunned by a magic trick that saw American mentalist Oz Pearlman predict Luke Donald's favourite golf course. Pearlman, who goes by the name Oz the Mentalist, performed a routine involving a golf ball in Keegan Bradley's hand.

Donald and Bradley were in New York earlier this week to celebrate a year until the 2025 Ryder Cup. They but the most mind-blowing incident was tweeted by the official Ryder Cup account on Thursday.

Pearlman asked Bradley to open his hands. "Bring your right hand on top of your left hand and cover it," he continued, with the American golfer doing as he was told.

The magician then turned to Donald and told him: "I want you to imagine that you suddenly travel to any golf course in the world. Can you see yourself there right now?"

Pearlman told Donald that he could picture the golf course he was thinking of. He then turned back to Bradley and said: "You know when your hands are empty. You can literally feel it. But picture it, where you can feel the weight of a golf ball.

"You feel all of those little dimples in the golf ball."

Pearlman invited Donald to tell everyone the course he was thinking of, to which he revealed that it was Pebble Beach Golf Links. Bradley was then asked to slowly lift his right hand where, remarkably, a golf ball was sitting in his palm.

The ball featured the logo of the Pebble Beach course that Donald had been thinking of. Both Donald and Bradley were left stunned by the trick, with the Englishman holding it up to the camera.

He then shrugged and added: "I don't know what to say."

The captains had been slightly more outspoken during the news conference earlier in the day. Donald and Bradley both insisted that they would be willing to pick LIV Golf stars amid the ongoing row over the sport's future.

"If you fulfil the regulations and the rules that the DP World Tour set, then you're eligible," said Donald. "There's a bunch of LIV guys that play on LIV that are eligible now - so I can pick them at will."

Bradley added: "For us, I'm going to take the 12 best players. So if we feel like there's a few guys there, one guy, two guys, whatever it is, then we're going to do that."
