may still be a few months away from his annual visit, but it's never too early to start planning your festive activities.
If you're on the hunt for a unique Christmas market to explore in 2024, the Kent town of Folkestone could well be the place to be.
This vibrant , previously named the 'best place to live in the southeast', will once again host its distinctive Festive Market throughout the season.
The iconic Folkestone Harbour Arm will undergo a complete transformation, with the market making its grand return on Friday, November 15.
It will then operate every weekend until Sunday, December 22, opening every Friday from 4pm to 8pm, and every Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 6pm.
For those in need of last-minute gifts, the market will also open specially on Monday, December 23 from 11am to 6pm, and will run on Christmas Eve until 4pm.
Shoppers can browse a range of independent stalls, uniquely situated within fisherman huts, illuminated with lights and adorned with festive decorations.
Creating a true winter wonderland by the sea, there will be an extensive choice of handmade gifts and crafts and one-of-a-kind presents and stocking fillers available to buy.
Naturally, no Christmas market would be complete without a generous array of festive food to enjoy while you browse, and Folkestone Harbour has plenty on offer.
Over the past year, the harbour has broadened its culinary offerings with several new restaurant openings, including the recently launched Cavells Mediterranean restaurant from the team behind the Big Greek Bus, reports .
Other popular eateries such as Sailbox, Little Rock and Brewing Brothers will continue to serve hungry patrons throughout the market's duration.
In addition to the various stalls and vendors, the Folkestone Festive Market will also feature free screenings of family-friendly classic films on the Big Screen.
If that isn't enough, there will be live music and community events to savour throughout. Returning in 2024 after a successful debut last year is the Harbour Grotto, a maritime-themed Christmas experience where children can meet Santa Claus.
Entry to the Folkestone Festive Market is free, with paid car parking available on site. Bookings for the Harbour Grotto are required, with information set to be posted on the Folkestone Harbour website soon.
