Shanghai Masters crowd gasp after Tsitsipas and Medvedev's unexpected actions

Fans at the Shanghai Masters were audibly shocked by and 's actions as they stepped out for their match.

The pair have had a long-standing rivalry since their first meeting more than six years ago.

So it's no surprise the spectators on Show Court 3 gasped when they saw what Tsitsipas and Medvedev did while posing for their pre-match photo.

Their fourth-round clash promised to be a blockbuster, and fans were surprised to see Tsitsipas and Medvedev fail to get top billing on the main stadium court. But they made the most of it, packing out the stands for their 14th meeting.

But they have since patched things up, something the Shanghai crowd wasn't prepared for. When Tsitsipas and Medvedev put their arms around one another for the pre-match photo at the net, they gasped in surprise before applauding.

While their newfound niceties came as a shock to the fans at the Shanghai Masters, Tsitsipas and Medvedev have been trying to tell the tennis world that they no longer have any bad blood.

"We've had some heated things on the court in the past, but I think those things have resolved themselves over time, and obviously we also had the time to speak about those things and have a common understanding of why these things happen."
