Send Push

week has been put in jeopardy due to an ongoing investigation launched nearby.

A man in his fifties was sadly found dead this Sunday (November 10) as the celebrities, pro dancers and judges prepared to head up north to show off their skills at the Blackpool Tower ballroom.

Police have filled the streets to investigate the death, with sources reporting everyone is on "high alert" nearby. One insider told The Sun: "It's the pinnacle of the show but it's really been clouded by this tragic murder.

"The streets have been filled with police and forensic teams. Everybody has been on high alert. Blackpool Tower also has extra security just to ensure all the stars feel safe."

Lancashire Police have confirmed that the body found was 59-year-old Kevin Price, found with several stab wounds at the Garfield Hotel on Springfield Road. That's an 11 minute walk from the Tower, or three minutes away by car.

Two suspects are being questioned in police custody, the BBC has reported, while officers confirmed the body was found during a response to a welfare check.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Pritchard has appealed for anyone who might have seen "any suspicious activity" in the area between Thursday, November 7 and Sunday, November 10 to come forward.

He said: "Please come and speak to us if you have any information at all as what you know could help us piece together the events that led to Kevin's tragic death."
