Tess Daly's non-negotiable rule for BBC Strictly bosses she 'won't compromise' on

TV presenter has been hosting 's hit series since the show's inception in 2004.

She first fronted the competition with the late before his death in 2017 and encountered many life-changing milestones throughout the years.

This includes the births of her two teenage daughters Phoebe in 2004 and Amber in 2010, who Tess welcomed with her husband .

During a recent Meta event to discuss her work with the tech giants, the 55-year-old opened up about navigating motherhood and her onscreen career.

The TV star shared: "I was pregnant with her during the first Strictly Come Dancing, I was twirling around with her,, she's been there ever since her birthdays every October when we do every year.

"So she's grown up with the show and Amber's 15 now. As a working mum for me, that is my most important role I take seriously.

"It's the one rule I will never break, you know, not be there for the important milestones in their lives, I won't compromise on it because you only get that once the sports days and nativities."

Tess continued: "I haven't missed any of them while being a working mum because it's just important to me to be there, hand hold them through all those big sort of steps in their lives.

She added: "I'm quite proud that I've managed to maintain the juggle."

Although Tess and Vernon are notoriously private about their family lives, they recently shared a few rare snaps of their daughters.

In a short video, Vernon revealed that he was joined by Phoebe at an American Football NFL game between the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur's stadium in North London last month.

He also paid tribute to her, with a heart-warming birthday post to celebrate her 20th birthday with a sweet photo from a recent shoot and a throwback of Phoebe as a youngster.
