A driving expert has shared the 10 common jobs that are typically , who charge up to 39 percent more than average for cover.

Whilst the typical is beginning to fall for the first time since 2022, it can still be incredibly expensive for some, heavily depending on the occupation of the driver.

Greg Wilson, Founder and CEO of the comparison website recommended that drivers looking to should try different job titles that reflect their current role.

He advised: "It is possible to even slightly by trying variations of the wording in your job title.

"As long as it's still factually accurate regarding your day-to-day role and responsibilities, it could help cut costs."

According to Quotezone.co.uk, the most expensive job for car insurance is a warehouse worker, with the average employee in this field paying a staggering £1,371.67 for a year's cover.

The company highlighted that warehouse workers are typically charged around £400 more than average due to risks they may encounter and the possibility of less sociable hours meaning they are more likely to drive at night.

Other potentially dangerous or high-pressure roles, including chefs and company directors were also found to pay much more than average for their insurance.

In comparison, Quotezone.co.uk found that motorists who are teachers and civil servants often pay some of the lowest rates for car insurance.

In most cases, drivers with these roles pay around 41 percent less than the average figure for cover, largely due to having more structured working hours and responsibilities, leading to fewer risks.

Similarly, HGV drivers also pay less for their car insurance, largely due to the time and experience they have on the roads.
