Stokes Croft and St Paul's in Bristol have been named the "coolest" neighbourhoods in the UK, according to a list by Time Out.

With each neighbourhood being assessed based on food, drinks, culture, community spirit, and "one-of-a-kind local flavour", Stokes Croft and St Paul's emerged as the coolest British neighbourhoods, known for their flourishing art and cultural scene, historic significance, and nightlife.

Identifiable by vibrant houses and art-filled streets, these neighbourhoods are home to independent businesses, family-owned boutiques, and some of the city's best eateries.

One of the main draws is Gloucester Road, deemed "one of Europe's longest stretches of independent stores" by Time Out, perfect for those seeking unique knick-knacks. Visitors can also enjoy a diverse culinary experience, from local brunch spots like The Crafty Egg to authentic Jamaican food at St Mary's Kitchen.

Despite being a stone's throw from Bristol's city centre, these neighbourhoods offer a distinct, culturally rich, and lively ambiance.

Strathbungo in Glasgow claimed second place on the coolest British neighbourhoods list, celebrated for its charming Victorian terraces, young independent businesses, and proximity to Queen's Park.

Its mix of restaurants, boutiques, and bars, combined with cultural hotspots like the Tramway arts venue, has made it a standout in Glasgow's Southside.

Leyton in London came in third, offering a down-to-earth atmosphere dotted with rustic sit-down coffee shops, a thriving food scene, and a historic football club at its heart.

Leyton's green spaces, along with Francis Road, which is dedicated to pedestrians, have attracted young families, adding a new vibrancy while maintaining the area's distinct identity.
