is a small village on remote Knoydart peninsula and is known for its wild beauty and a very unique location.

With no roads in or out, it's home to what's often called Britain's most remote , The Old Forge.

Reaching Inverie requires either a two-day hike across rugged Highland terrain or a boat trip from the mainland.

For those who choose the hiking route, the journey begins at Kinloch Hourn and follows a 15-mile path through mountains and along the stunning shoreline of Loch Hourn.

The path, which was once used by farmers and deerstalkers, has breathtaking views but can be challenging, with steep climbs and rough ground.

For a simpler journey, visitors can take a ferry from Mallaig to reach the .

Once in Inverie, visitors can find a tight-knit community of about 120 residents who live without the usual conveniences of modern towns.

The village is located between two lochs - Loch Hourn and Loch Nevis - and is surrounded by nature.

The Old Forge pub is a popular stop for visitors. It was once a blacksmith's forge but is now a community-owned pub after locals banded together to buy it in 2022.

"It started as a bit of a joke, but then we wanted to buy our pub," pub manager Will O'Neil told .

The pub has become an important part of the village.

Inside The Old Forge, visitors have a chance to connect with locals and other travellers in a cosy atmosphere.

"It's surprisingly busy," said O'Neil.

Besides the pub, Inverie offers beautiful views, hiking trails and a small community garden cared for by volunteers.

The village also has a post office and a few other small businesses, making it feel like a step back in time for some.
