The UK's first incredible luxury overnight sleeper train will whisk Londoners out of the to some of Britain's most beautiful sites.

Hospitality operator Belmond has unveiled the Britannic Explorer, a new sleeper that will journey through and starting in July 2025.

The Britannic Explorer will feature 18 cabins, including three Grand Suites and 15 regular suites.

Paying homage to the Great British tradition of touring, the Britannic Explorer celebrates the art of slow travel.

Turning the idea of staycation into a grand adventure, the sleeper will offer three routes departing from to one of the following: , the picturesque or the rolling hills of Wales. Each journey will last three nights and aims to showcase underrated attractions.

Passengers on the Britannic Explorer can take optional off-train guided excursions to immerse themselves in each destination's natural landscapes, cultural offerings and history.

They include guided hikes through Wales, wild swimming in the Lake District, a private tour and dinner at the Hauser & Wirth gallery and a visit to Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens in Cornwall.

Belmond's vice-president of trains and cruises, Gary Franklin, put it: "The Britannic Explorer offers something truly unique; an opportunity to discover the rugged Cornish coastline to Snowdonia's untamed National Park and the vast expanses of the Lake District like never before."

Back on board, guests can enjoy a touch of fine dining by Michelin-starred restaurateur British chef Simon Rogan.

Guests can enjoy a quintessential afternoon alongside lunch and dinner menus which all have an eye on sustainable and local ingredients.

Rogan said: "I hope every passenger not only enjoys the flavours but also feels a connection between the dishes and the journey, making their time on board truly memorable."

You can then unwind in the onboard wellness suite or if you fancy something livelier head to the botanically inspired bar that serves up stunning craft cocktails.

All these amenities come with a price with journeys on the Britannic Explorer starting from £11,000 based on a double cabin to include a 3-night itinerary, excursions, meals, wine and alcoholic beverages on board.
