The UK beach so dangerous visitors are banned

is not short of beautiful beaches welcoming millions of people each year.

However, there is one beach that doesn't receive the same reception as the others; in fact, it is completely closed off to the public.

, near Chichester, has been written off for public safety concerns after explosives have regularly been discovered on the beach.

Over this year, 60 explosives, with 52 of them found in one day alone, and regular pieces of ordnance have been found washed up on the beach.

Bomb disposal teams have made multiple trips to the area to carry out controlled explosives and get rid of anything that could be of potential danger.

Despite various signs placed around the beach to inform people of the risks of Medmerry Beach, people still find themselves exploring the area and have found potential explosives.

teams have also warned people to avoid the beach and call the coastguard if anything is found.

A spokesperson for Selsey Coastguard Rescue Team said: "If you come across ordnance or something you're not sure about on the beach, please don't touch it and call the Coastguard straight away.

"Ordnance comes in all different shapes and sizes, and ordnance found on this beach in the past has been found to still be highly explosive.

"This beach is closed to the public with no access due to multiple dangers including unexploded ordnance, please do not go past the rock armour on Medmerry Beach.

"In an emergency out at sea, along the coast or on the beach and ask for the coastguard."

It is vital to follow the warning signs and listen to the advice given by the coastguard teams.
