Travis Kelce shows where his priorities lie after Taylor Swift NFL theory was shut down

Taylor Swift has been noticeably absent from the last two games of Travis Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs, with various reasons cited. However, the primary one seems to be her desire to let him concentrate fully on his season with the team, especially given his less-than-stellar start to the year.

Kelce had come under fire after clocking just 69 yards in his first three games, but he more than made up for it against the Los Angeles Chargers this past weekend. He managed 90 yards and seven catches, once again becoming Patrick Mahomes' go-to option in the Chiefs' victory.

Swift's absence led some to speculate that she was deliberately avoiding drawing extra attention to Kelce, who needed a strong performance - which he ultimately delivered.

According to a report from Page Six, Swift's absence gave the high-profile couple a much-needed respite from the wave of negativity they've both been facing.

Some critics have lamented the intense scrutiny Swift attracts when she attends Chiefs games, even suggesting it could be to blame for Kelce's initial lacklustre performances this season.

However, both have demonstrated their commitment to their respective crafts and that has shone through with Swift's absence from NFL matches. Kelce is fully focused on football, while Swift is gearing up for her return to the stage in the coming weeks, as her Eras tour prepares for its final leg in North America.

When questioned about their early season form, both Kelce and Patrick Mahomes remained unphased, expressing confidence in their abilities for the season ahead as the former explained he was solely concentrating on his team.

His brother similarly explained that there was no possibility of Kelce's form being affected by Swift's attendance at matches, shutting down a theory that had emerged on social media.

"We're always constantly working to get better here, and that's just always been my focus," Kelce stated. "I think this year, stats may say something different, but at the same time, you still see the same person inside this building, and that's all I really care about. I'm my own worst critic, everything outside of this building is just noise."

Mahomes chimed in: "I mean, the whole Kelce thing in general... it hasn't been a worry to me. I know whatever we need, he's going to make plays. And that's what he did today."
