Irish Setter

The Irish Setter, a lively gundog renowned for its elegance, speed and stunning red coat, came in fifth place. They are widely recognised as excellent family pets due to their generally sweet nature.

They also enjoy playing and are fantastic at fetching tennis balls for children.

Boxer

Following the Irish Setter are Boxer dogs, which are known for their cheerful and playful demeanour. Their patient and protective qualities have earned them a reputation for being great with children.

They take their duties as the home's defender and loyal companion seriously, bravely alerting families to any potential threats.

Beagle

With their famously cheerful disposition, Beagles have earned the third spot on the list. Their lovable nature, boundless happiness and friendly demeanor make them excellent companions for family life.

Labrador

Labradors also received praise from Amir for being among the most affectionate and playful canine breeds worldwide. These dogs are especially noted for their outstanding rapport with children.

On top of that, their high energy levels mean they are a perfect playmate for energetic kids.

Golden retriever

However, the top honour for the ideal family pooch goes to the Golden Retriever, according to the vet. Renowned for its ease of training and gentleness with children, this breed stands out.

Despite their quieter nature when compared to other dog breeds, their popularity is immense. Plus, owners won't have to cope with excessive barking.
