Season six of , set to premiere on Netflix next month, has ignited a defense campaign by viewers on social media for characters often perceived as "less likeable".

The surge of support follows the announcement by Netflix that the beloved series will enjoy a seventh season, confirming its unwavering popularity.

As protagonists Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) are poised to return to our screens, the fanbase is voicing their support for those characters previously deemed "annoying".

One passionate Virgin Riverfan, using the Reddit handle @gymnasylum, expressed support for Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale), stating: "Lizzie has shown so much growth in her character, yet people are still annoyed by her character and I don't know why."

The fan didn't stop there but also highlighted other characters who've received negative attention in past seasons.

In heartfelt plea, they wrote: "There are people that don't like Jack and I get that he has some qualities that aren't the best, but he's a great guy. Brady needs a break. Please. Let him live a good life.
