We all struggle to sleep at times, but if your brain is whirring all night long, keeping you up with worries and stresses, switching up your bedding could help - you could think about trying a weighted blanket, with some at the moment.

Designed to mimic deep pressure therapy, the added weight should make you feel like you're being hugged and even help trigger the release of the same calming, feel-good hormones you get when you are being cuddled, serotonin and oxytocin. The idea is, you should fall asleep faster, and feel less anxious.

The blankets can often be pricey though, but Wowcher is offering a . It's weighed down with glass beads (sewn on the inside) and comes in chic navy or dark grey. It's also 100% cotton - so nice and breathable, rather than hot and sweaty - and not only could it improve your sleep, it'll look lovely as a throw on your bed too.

One Wowcher customer said it really helped with their health conditions: "The blanket is very heavy to handle. Amazing for body pain. Fibromyalgia Arthritis. Looks nice. Well made."

Sleep fine yourself, but got someone else in your life who struggles to drift off? Another customer can confirm it is ideal for gifting: "We haven't used it yet, it is a Christmas present."

However, one user has found a complete workaround: "Nice idea, but using a few regular blankets on top of each other for a more comfortable weight works better for me. Also regular blankets can be washed in the regular way, a weighted blanket needs to be handled differently."

Another warns the blankets aren't a surefire fix for all sleep problems: "I still believe these blankets may be of benefit to some, but not to me!"

For a slightly heavier blanket, Amazon is selling the , but it is more expensive, coming in at £69.99. If your child is in need of a weighted blanket, try the from Online Home Shop. It's £13, down from £20, but is small (100 x 150cm).
