So, for those hankering to whip up a swift dessert that'll charm the whole family, here is your go-to recipe for an air fryer delight.

  • 600g Bramley apples, peeled, cored and roughly chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon or ginger
  • 2 tbsp caster sugar
  • 2 tbsp dried berries, cherries or sultanas (optional)

For the crumble

  • 100g butter
  • 150g plain flour
  • 75g demerara sugar
  • 2 tbsp porridge oats
  • cream, custard or vanilla ice cream, to serve

Preheat the air fryer to 180C. Combine the apples, cinnamon, sugar and dried fruit (if using) in a heatproof dish with two tablespoons of water.

Seal the bowl and cook for approximately 10 to 12 minutes until the apples are tender and juicy.

In the meantime, work the butter into the flour, then mix in the sugar, oats and a pinch of salt until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

Stir the apple concoction, then evenly distribute the crumble on top. Air fry for an additional ten minutes until it turns golden brown.

Allow it to cool down a bit, then serve it warm accompanied by cream, custard or ice cream.
