has arrived, launching in the early hours of this morning, November 14, 2024. The strapline of the advert is "The secret to finding the perfect gift? Knowing where to look."
The two-minute TV advert, created by Saatchi & Saatchi, celebrates the search for the perfect gift through the wisdom of its customers and the breadth of offerings in John Lewis stores.
In the advert, the heroine, Sally, has left it a little late to find the right gift for her sister this year and races into a John Lewis store at closing time. Falling through a rack of dresses, she enters a fantastical world. We first see her stumbling out of the wardrobe in the attic of her childhood home and from here we are taken on a whimsical journey through her memories as she searches for the ultimate present, against the clock.
Returning to the store and back to reality she has found the perfect gift, ready and wrapped. Sally then heads outside and has a special moment with her sister who will be the gift's recipient. As they walk away we see her sister reflected in the John Lewis window as the child from her memories.
Sally, the star of the advert, can be seen wearing a festive winter , which is already available on the website for less than £50. The garment is a subtle take on a Christmas jumper, in a neutral shade, that can be worn throughout the winter months and not just in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
For those looking to go all-in on the festivities, however, there is a red and navy colourway which offers a slightly more Christmassy twist. A high wool content can often add to the cost of clothing, but despite the fact contain 80% wool, they cost just £49.
The cosy material is ideal for keeping warm as temperatures drop. With Jumper Day taking place on December 12, this could be a good opportunity to prepare. John Lewis describes the jumper, saying: ''Beat the winter months in this cosy , made from a soft and warm woollen blend.''
The reviews on so far are very positive, with one John Lewis shopper saying: ''Good value because this is 80% wool and so comfy to wear. I'm usually 8 before maternity and now I'm 38 weeks, 10 fits perfectly. Happy with this sweater!''
Another commented: ''Beautiful jumper - not to heavy lovely autumnal colours - looks fabulous with jeans and a little brown skirt tights and boots. I've received tonnes of compliments. Quality excellent im sure I'll be recycling this wonderful jumper each year!''
Some shoppers were less impressed with the fit of , with one mentioning: ''Not a good fit around the arms very loose, item returned.''
Another added: ''Great quality and price. A little short in the body so best with a shirt underneath.''
If you're not bothered about wool content and would rather spend less on a jumper, this might be worth a try.
Or, this fun comes in 12 different patterns, costing between £30 and £42.
