The 10-day festival of Onam is one of the most celebrated events of Kerala. The annual harvest festival commemorates Vamana, the 5th Avatar of Lord Vishnu and is marked by making of rangolis, prayers and lots of good food. Onam Sadhya, the traditional Onam feast served on banana leaves forms an integral part of the celebrations. This year from 6th to 15th September a lot of places are offering Onam Sadhya. We have compiled some for you!

Sheraton New Delhi: Sheraton's renowned South Indian restaurant, Dakshin, is all set to bring the vibrant and joyous festival of Onam to the heart of the capital. Known for its authentic regional flavors, Dakshin will showcase Kerala's rich cultural heritage through a special Onam Sadhya, a traditional vegetarian feast that captures the spirit of this auspicious occasion. From September 06th – 15th, 2024, Dakshin will be hosting a series of Onam celebrations featuring an elaborate Sadhya meal. The meticulously crafted menu includes a variety of classic dishes such as Avial, Pyaru Thovaran, Erusser, Kootu Curry and Kalan, among others, prepared under the expert guidance of our skilled chefs who bring the authentic flavors of Kerala straight to your plate. The Onam Sadhya is not just a meal; it is an experience steeped in tradition, offering a taste of Kerala’s culinary excellence that has been passed down through generations.


Taj Corbett Resort & Spa: This Onam, celebrate the flavours of Sadya, at Taj Corbett Resort & Spa, where Executive Chef Bidyut Saha and his team has curated a special menu featuring banana fritters, pineapple pachadi, and ada pradaman, a classic dessert made with steamed rice flakes cooked in jaggery-laced coconut milk. You will get to enjoy all this, along with other traditional dishes and much more on the traditional plantain leaf, that will surely satiate your taste buds.


Radisson Blu, Bengaluru, Outer Ring Road: They will celebrate Onam with a special Sadhya at Melange, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant. From September 13 to 15, 2024, guests can indulge in a traditional Onam feast served in the authentic style on a banana leaf. The menu features an array of classic Kerala dishes, including Kerala Rice, Sambar, Moru Curry, Paruppu Curry, Avial, Kalan, Cabbage Thoran, Beetroot Pachadi, Cucumber Kichadi, Pineapple Kichadi, Erissery, Lemon Pickle, Mango Pickle, and Inji Puli. The meal is complemented by traditional snacks like Chips and Sharkara Varatti, and desserts such as Paruppu Payasam and Ada Pradhaman, along with fresh Pazham (banana) and crisp Pappadam. Lunch service begins at 12 pm, followed by dinner at 6:30 pm.


Four Points by Sheraton, New Delhi: This Onam, those who are looking for typical homemade Onam feast can explore the Sadhya curated by culinary expert Rekha Raghavan. Rekha is a home chef with several years of experience and is known for the use of fresh regional ingredients and authentic taste. The food is traditionally served in banana leaves and each dish served here has its own unique flavour. From the flavorful avial to the indulgent payasam, every dish offers a taste of Kerala’s culinary heritage. The dates for the Sadhya are-12th - 15th September, lunch timings are 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM and dinner timings are: 7:30 PM - 10:30 PM.


Zambar, Ambience Mall, Gurugram: Zambar, known for its authentic South Indian coastal cuisine, is celebrating Onam, Kerala's grandest festival, by offering a special Onam Sadhya from September 14th to September 16th, 2024. This festive period will be marked by a feast, served traditionally on a banana leaf, capturing the true essence of the festival. The main course features an assortment of delectable vegetarian dishes, including Avial (mixed vegetables in coconut gravy), Beetroot Pachadi (yogurt-based curry with beetroot), Olan (ash gourd and red beans in coconut milk), and Erissery (pumpkin and lentil stew). These dishes are accompanied by aromatic Kerala red rice and traditional accompaniments like Sambar, Rasam, and Moru Kachiyathu. No Sadhya is complete without the divine taste of Payasam, and they are offering varieties such as Pal Payasam (rice pudding with milk and dry fruits) and Ada Pradhaman (sweet made with rice ada and jaggery) to end your meal. The meal experience is also available for home delivery.


Thalaivar, GK II & Worldmark Gurgaon: Onam is all about enjoying a delicious meal served on a banana leaf with your loved ones. Tantalise your tastebuds with these lip smacking dishes being served at Thalaivar starting from Pachadi, Chenna Mezhukkupuratti to Mathanga Erissery and end your meal on a sweet note with the perfect pal payasam. The South Indian restaurant has organised a full-fledged Onam Sadhya with 24 dishes from September 7 - September 9, for lunch and dinner too.


Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield: This September, Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield invites you to celebrate the vibrant spirit of Onam with a grand feast at MCafe. Their expertly curated menu presents a feast that truly captures the essence of Kerala’s rich culinary heritage. From the bold flavours of Nadan Kozhi Curry, the aromatic charm of Malabar Mutton Biryani, to the tangy zest of Meen Mulakittathu, the spread also includes timeless vegetarian classics like Avial and Kootu Curry, each crafted with a perfect balance of spices to awaken your senses. It is available from 5th to 15th September between 12:30 pm to 04:00 pm.
