Ahead Of Assembly Elections, BJP Organises Marathi Dandiya In Sena Bastion To Attract Voters

As Assembly Elections approach, political parties are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to connect with voters. Leveraging the festive season of Navratri, Political parties are organising various cultural events to engage the public. This year again, BJP is using the popular Dandiya dance and Navratri festival as a platform to reach out to voters in core Sena belt in Mumbai's Kalachowki area. For the third consecutive year, the Mumbai BJP has organised the Grand Marathi Dandiya at Kalachowki, Abhyudaya Nagar. The Marathi Dandiya event, which has gained significant popularity over the years, aims to bring together people from all walks of life to celebrate Navratri while also offering a space for cultural and political engagement. The reason behind this event gaining so much of traction, this year too famous music director and singer Avdhoot Gupte and his team has taken the responsibility to entertain people and make them dance on the Marathi songs in this event.BJP Maharashtra Treasurer Mihir Kotecha, who leads the organising team said, "This year's Dandiya will run for seven days, two days longer than previous years, and will continue to feature free entry, as it has in the past. We are encouraging everyone to attend and enjoy the cultural extravaganza. We have made this platform for people who can come with friends, family and enjoy the festivity. Common man of Mumbai who contributes to the growth of city has been kept at the center of this event and thus we have made entry free."Kotecha emphasised that BJP was the first to introduce the concept of a Marathi Dandiya in Mumbai, which celebrates not just the traditional Navratri festival but also brings in a local Marathi flavour to the event. Kotecha also informed that to make this event more exciting high end branded phone has been kept as daily prize for the best dressed male and female, the condition which organisers have kept that attire should be any Maharashtrian attire. In case there is tie between male and female both participants will be declared as winner and bother will get high end phones.From past 3 years BJP is organising this event at same spot in Kalachowki aiming to gain more traction in Marathi dominant area where Sena always gets the first preference when it comes to voting. But BJP is aiming to break their bastion this time. Surprisingly after the split in the Shiv Sena, the Eknath Shinde faction also didn’t take any objection to this event.
