Send Push

The weapons supervisor of the Alec Baldwin movie Rust pleaded guilty on Monday to a separate criminal charge of carrying a gun into a licensed liquor establishment. Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who worked as an armorer on the movie set was charged for loading the gun that left cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead on the set.Hannah changed her plea to guilty on the charge. This was done with an aim to exchange it with a reduced sentence of 18 months supervised probation. "I'd just like to apologize to the court and thank you for your judgment today," she said.ALSO READ: Judge T. Glenn Ellington approved the agreement allowing Hannah to begin probation while serving out her jail term in New Mexico for involuntary manslaughter of Halyna. The cinematographer was 42 during the fatal incident. An American trial court charged Hannah with prison on April 1, for loading the live round into the gun and for unwittingly bringing live ammunition onto the movie set, failing to follow basic gun safety protocols. It was also claimed that weeks before Rust started filming in October 2021, Hannah carried a gun into a downtown bar against the prohibition of firearms.ALSO READ: The case was however dismissed in July after it came under light that the prosecutors withheld evidence on how live rounds got there in the first place. This comes as Rust is set to have its debut screening at EnergaCamerimage film festival held in Poland. But, it did not go down well with many people who called it "distasteful".
