Gulf Airline Emirates has put a ban on certain gadgets after Lebanon witnessed a series of attacks earlier this month. Emirates has banned devices like walkie-talkies and pagers, given these devices induced the attacks on Hezbollah operatives in Lebanon which killed 30 and injured nearly 3000. Hezbollah and Lebanon have accused Israel of orchestrating the attacks. Emirates said the decision to ban the devices was taken to minimize risk for the passengers. Addressing its decision to ban the devices, the airline officials said that "such items found in passengers' hand luggage or checked baggage will be confiscated by Dubai Police." The decision comes on the heels of the airline canceling even more flights to Middle Eastern countries following the escalation of conflict between Israel and Lebanon. It includes flights to Iran and Jordan. However, Jordan flights are likely to start operating from this coming week. Meanwhile, Emirates has halted flight operations on the Lebanon route till October 15. There are other Gulf airlines, too, that have halted operations following the escalations.Palestinian militants in Gaza and Lebanon fired rockets into Israel as the country marked the anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attack, which killed 1,200 people and ignited a war affecting Gaza and parts of Lebanon. In response, Israel launched strikes on militant targets in both Gaza and Lebanon. Israel, focusing on Hezbollah in Lebanon, warned residents in southern Lebanese towns to evacuate and cleared areas along the Mediterranean coast. As of now, Israeli strikes on Gaza has resulted in the deaths of more than 40,000 civilians as reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry.
