Police rushed to Santa Monica High School on Tuesday following reports of a potential shooting. The school was immediately placed on lockdown as a precaution. However, authorities later confirmed it was a false alarm."FALSE ALARM at Santa Monica High School SMPD officers responded to a report of suspicious activity on the high school campus. As a precaution, students were sheltering in place. It was determined to be a false alarm," police said in a post on X. "Officers are conducting a thorough search to ensure everyone's safety.
