Apple TV+ series Pachinko closed the second chapter of its tale on October 11. The Korean and Japanese-language show, created by Soo Hugh, adapted by from Min Jin Lee's novel. The Season 2 finale featured a character saying goodbye and moving on in the series. The emotions of the finale were heightened by the use of Coldplay’s popular song Viva La Vida, sung by Blackpink's Rosé. The makers of Pachinko spoke about how they managed to land the busy K-pop singer for the show.

Blackpink's Rose covers Coldplay song Viva La VidaFrom the beginning, Blue Marble Pictures CEO Theresa Kang and creator Hugh wanted to add a K-pop talent to the second season of Pachinko. They thought getting a Blackpink member would be pipe dream; Hugh really wanted to use Coldplay's Viva La Vida because the lyrics specifically fit the show and the character of Noa (Tae Ju Kang).

Kang, who produces the show, told Deadline, "We reached out to Rose and her managers at the Black Label, and they were really supportive. Rose’s such an artist, and when you’re negotiating these things, we thought she was going to go into the studio, once or twice. She went in multiple times of her own choice because she wanted it to be perfect. She’s such a perfectionist and an artist herself, really similar to Soo and our team, and it felt even more like stars aligning. And when we first heard her version of the cover song, we were floored. It was so emotionally powerful, vulnerable and strong and memorable." Will there be a Pachinko Season 3?The second season has left many characters at a crossroads and there's a lot more to tell in the narratives of Sunja (Min-ha Kim), Hansu (Lee Min-ho), Solomon (Jin Ha) and especially Noa who has relocated to Nagano, leaving behind his family. While there is no official renewal from Apple TV+, the makers have already prepared for Season 3, which would likely be the final season of the family drama.
