Huge Boost For Team India As Star Batter Returns To Batting After Major Injury Scare Ahead Of Perth Test

India are slated to meet Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth for the first Test which will start on November 22. On the back of a 3-0 whitewash at the hands of New Zealand, India’s World Test Championship hopes are clinging to their performance in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. A number of permutations and combinations regarding the starting XI have surfaced. Rohit Sharma has recently been blessed with a baby boy and he remains uncertain in the first Test in Perth. KL Rahul who has been tipped to replace him suffered a severe blow as the player was hit on the elbow and had to leave the field. But in a major boost, the former Lucknow Super Giants captain has returned to the nets and took part in a rigorous practice session. Both Rahul and Abhimanyu Easwaran have emerged as favourites for that vacant opening role. India suffered another injury crisis as Shubman Gill reportedly fractured his thumb while fielding in the practice session. With Gill’s uncertainty, both Rahul and Easwaran are now in contention to feature in the Perth Test. Focus will also be on Virat Kohli who has endured a rough patch of form ahead of the much anticipated Border Gavaskar Trophy. Virat has had a history of coming out on top against the Aussies and with Rohit missing he has to shoulder the responsibility.
