Mumbai: A to let their son go but to no avail. All this happened in broad daylight in Mumbai's Malad area and has sparked the debate around mob violence once again.The victim was in his car when he tried to overtake an auto-rickshaw and hit it. What began as a usual altercation, intensified into brutal violence with a mob beating the man to death. His mother held him tightly and covered him while his father pleaded to the crowd with folded hands. Akash Maeen, couldn't be saved and died during treatment.
Mother Narrates Horror, Says 'No One Came To Save My Son'Deepali Maeen, the mother of the deceased narrated the horror she witnessed with her own eyes. Something that no mother should go through. Deepali told Times Now that she tried to protect her son but no one from the bystanders came to help them. Rather, they recorded videos of the entire incident, she said."Everyone was busy recording videos but no one came forward to save my son. I am unable to express the way they have beaten my son to death," she said.In an emotional appeal to the city administration, Deepali said, "The administration should take serious note of this, such incident is happening in Mumbai city...Women are not safe here.. today I have lost my son, tomorrow it could be another mother.. it should be looked upon seriously." 'My Son Vomitted At Hospital'Deepali told Times Now how the lack of facilities led to delays in the treatment of her son. She said the hospital, has been named after Balasaheb Thackeray, and the trauma centre here lacks medical facilities. "-The hospital where he was taken lacked medical facilities and even the surgeon was not available for treatment, they should have informed us earlier.. so we could have changed..." she said."My son vomited at the hospital, there was no hospital staff instead we were told to clean it.. my son was battling for life and I was told to do the clean up.. they didn't treat him on time and delayed it..." the grieving mother told Times Now.#RoadRage & public lynching: Man beaten to death, onlookers record in #Mumbai

Deepali said what her family got was mere assurances. "We were told that a summary is being prepared and can take the patient as he becomes stable but we lost him, he couldn't be saved..." she added.Seeking strict punishment against those who beat Aakash, Deepali said, "In front of me my son was killed, those culprits should not get bail and the strictest punishment should be given to them, I have full faith in the police," Deepali added.#RoadRage & public lynching: Man beaten to death, onlookers record
