Only My People Can Finish Me, Not Amit Shah: Uddhav Thackeray

New Delhi: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray Sunday claimed that senior BJP leader Amit Shah has directed party leaders in closed-door meeting to break the Opposition ranks and target himself and NCP (SP) leader Sharad Pawar. "Amit Shah is coming to finish me and Sharad Pawar, will you let us be finished? Only my people can finish me, not Amit Shah," he said.He alleged Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave the instruction to BJP leaders during his recent visit to Nagpur."Why does Shah want to finish Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar politically...so that the BJP can loot Maharashtra, he alleged.Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating a life-size statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Ramtek city in east Maharashtra, Thackeray said the people will decide his political future and not the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. "If my people tell me to sit at home, I will sit at home, but if someone from Delhi tells me to sit at home, my people will make them sit at home," he said.Thackeray said that the BJP snapped its three-decade-old alliance with (undivided) Shiv Sena in 2014 (before assembly elections). "However, Sena managed to win 63 seats," he added. The Shiv Sena leader wondered if RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat agreed with BJP's "Hindutva" involving breaking other parties and poaching (opposition leaders)."Mohan Bhagwatji, do you agree with BJP's Hindutva? Goons are coming into this BJP, corrupt people are coming. Do you agree with this? The upcoming elections are not about power but they are crucial to prevent Maharashtra from getting looted," the former chief minister said.He also targeted Chief Minister Exnath Shinde for failing to stop industries from relocating to neighbouring Gujarat."In the last two and a half years, since this Mindhe (Shinde) went there, so many industries have gone to Gujarat. Everything is being taken to Gujarat. Mumbai's economic centre has also been taken to Gujarat. We are not just fighting for power, but our fight is against the looting of Maharashtra," he said and appealed to people to ensure a massive victory for Maha Vikas Aghadi and deliver all six assembly segments in Ramtek Lok Sabha constituency.
