Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Unhappy With Donald Trump's Re-Election? Report Surfaces

Send Push

Meghan Markle, the Duke of Sussex, made her feelings about President-elect Donald Trump public back in 2016 itself. Although Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex and Markle did not endorse any candidate in the 2024 US election, it was widely assumed that they favoured the Democratic Party. Markle, who is a citizen of the United States unlike Price Harry, is likely not happy with Trump's re-election, as per reports. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had released a statement via their Archewell Foundation back in September. They did not endorse any candidate in it, instead focused on voting and civic engagement. They stressed the importance of the active participation in creating a just and fair world over electoral politics. However, Markle's comments about Trump in a chat show back in 2016 have resurfaced amid Trump's election. She had disapproved of Trump by calling him 'divisive' and a 'misogynist.' Markle even went on to joke that she would stay in Canada if Trump won the 2016 elections. Notably, despite not endorsing a candidate, the UK Royals had out a video where they urged people to vote and highlighted the importance of rejecting hate speech. Though not explicitly, it was assumed generally that the comment was directed at Trump and his supporters, given their records with allegations of hate speech. However, they have not yet reacted to the election results, even as the counting has almost concluded in most states and it has been decided that Trump will replace Joe Biden at the White House on January 20, 2025.
