Pune Starts October on Warm Note at 33°C, But Heavy Rain Still Expected This Week: Check IMD Forecast

Pune: By the end of September, Pune recorded a warm temperature of 33.2 degrees Celsius that has broken the previous streak of mercury reaching 30 degrees only last month. It indicates that Pune is set to welcome sunny days. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the city will not see any rain till October 3. During this time, the temperature will range between 32 and 33 degrees. Pune ended September on a "high note by recording 208mm of rainfall". However, a few rounds of rainfall will also be witnessed by the residents this month. Till then, they will have to face consequences of heavy downpour so far, such as waterlogging. A solo forecast on social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter), claimed that 33 degrees in Pune was the highest temperature recorded in September. Under the username of Weather Interpreter Tanny, the X user said, "#MumbaiRains #PuneRains Upward temperature march continues. Both Mumbai and Pune record their highest temperatures this September at 32.6 and 33.2c respectively today".

In another post, the solo weather interpreter said, " #MumbaiRains #PuneRains As quoted a few days ago, from being highly deficit to large excess, both Mumbai and Pune end September on a high note at 655mm and 208mm rains, respectively. Kudos to the accuracy of both National (IMD) as well as International Model forecasts".

7-Day Pune Weather Forecast There will be a partly cloudy sky from October 1 to October 3. Pune will see rain on October 4, with the prediction of light downpour across the city. According to the IMD, October 5 and 6 will see intensified rain.

Pune Waterlogging In a post on X, a Pune resident showed how a heavy rainfall inundated several parts of the city. He said, :"Heavy rains have caused severe flooding in Pune, disrupting daily life and affecting thousands. Over 100mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours has led to overflowing rivers and waterlogging in many areas. Authorities are on high alert as rescue operations continue. #PuneFloods #RainAlert"

Another user took a jibe at the waterlogged roads, saying that "tractors" are the best for transportation during the flood situation in the city.
