Sierra Linda High School On Lockdown After Theats, No Shooting Reported

Phoenix Police on Wednesday said that Sierra Linda High School, on 67th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road, was on lockdown after several threats. However, no shooting or injuries have been reported.The Phoenix police has said that officials are currently present at the school area where the threats were issued. Furthermore the Phoenix Police has issued a statement regarding the matter in which they said, "Out of an abundance of caution, Phoenix Police deployed recourses to search the campus to ensure the safety of the students, staff and community members around Sierra Linda High School." Adding to this they said, "There have not been any reports of a shooting, or reports of injuries."In recent times, there have been many schools in Phoenix area under the radar of safety threats. A series of threats have been issued in Arizona schools therefore raising concerns about their safety. September 12A 13 year old girl and a 17 year old boy were arrested with links to threats issued at two different schools in Arizona. The schools were Bales Elementary School and Buckeye Union High School.September 19There were 17 threats issued within Mesa Public School in connection to which six teenagers were detained and were had charges imposed on them. September 20As Liberty Traditional School received threats, a teenager was arrested in connection to the incident. September 22A Buckeye girl was detained for being involved in a school threat incident in Wisconsin. September 25The Scottsdale Police had to swiftly respond to a report that stated that school students were held hostage. This took place at Chaparral High School.
