These Americans Remain Captive In Gaza One Year After Hamas Attack On Israel

Four Americans are still being held captive among other hostages by Hamas as the devastating October 7 attack on Israel completes a year. On October 7, 2023, Hamas attacked a music festival in Israel, killing 1200 people and taking 251 hostages. The attack started a full-fledged conflict between Israel and Hamas, which has seen Lebanon's Hezbollah, the Houthis of Yemen and Iran getting involved. Along with the Israeli hostages, Hamas also took in several Israeli-Americans who were serving in the Israeli Defence Forces. Here are the details of the American hostages under Hamas captivity:Elan AlexanderOne of the remaining hostages is Edan Alexander, a young army personnel from Israeli military who was on duty near the Israel-Gaza border, when Hamas attacked on Israel. Moments after he had assured his mother about his safety, he was kidnapped and taken hostage. His family remembers him as they hope to see him soon. After a year of the attack, Alexander's family are truly hoping for their son's release by emphasizing on a deal. Other hostages who were freed stated that they had seen Alexander in the Hamas tunnels. Omer NeutraAnother soldier from the Israeli military, Omer Neutra, a native of New York's Long Island was kidnapped after his team tried to fight back Hamas troops. Omer had postponed his study plans to join the Israel army. To fasten the release of Omer, Plainview in Long Island took out a demonstration on Wednesday, October 2 as per reports from ABC-7. Alongside Omer's parents had talks with President Biden and President Netanyahu and urged them to free their son from Hamas captivity. Sagui Dekel- Chen35 year old hardworking Sagui Dekel Chen was held captive from his home in Kibbutz, one of the most affected areas from the October 7 attack. His was last seen by hostages who are now freed in an injured state. Keith SeigelKeith Seigel is also amongst the four who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Kfar Aza, a town in Israel. He is a therapist by occupation who had flew to Israel four decades ago with his wife Aviva.
