Former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull has pointed out that Australia know their biggest threat will be ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah and hence they have scheduled the Tests in a way that midway through the series, he is tired from all the hard work. He said that the Aussies have centred their entire plan around Bumrah to ensure India don't pull off a hattrick of wins Down Under. Heading into the series against Australia, most of the talk is around India's whitewash at home at the hands of New Zealand and questions are being raised over the team's form heading Down Under. Doull said that unlike most series, Cricket Australia will host the first Test in Perth, followed by a pink-ball Test in Adelaide and the third Test in Gabba, which increases the workload on Bumrah. “What Australia have done smartly is scheduling. They know that while batters are going to be key in some shape or form, but their biggest threat is Jasprit Bumrah. So they have gone with the three hardest and fastest surfaces, plus the Pink-Ball Test," Doull said while speaking on JioCinema. "They are trying to cook Bumrah. They will cook him in the heat of Perth, where he will have to bowl a lot of overs. Then he is going to have to go and bowl a lot of overs in that second pink-ball Test in Adelaide. And then you've got to go to Brisbane where generally, first up, the seamers are quite good as well," Doull added. Jasprit Bumrah's Bowling Numbers in AustraliaThe ace India pacer has had quite some success Down Under. In seven Tests, he has picked up a whopping 32 wickets, at an impressive economy of 2.47. In the third Test of the 2018-19 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Melbourne, Bumrah picked a match-winning haul of 9/86. The ace pacer also picked six wickets in India's comeback win at the venue during the 2020-21 tour, with the 'G' being his happy hunting ground. India will play the fourth Test of the upcoming series in Melbourne, from December 26.
