India allrounder Tilak Varma has said that he is doing fine after suffering a blow to his head and the ball coming through the lights made it a tad bit difficult for him to judge the catch. In the final over of South Africa's chase, with 25 runs needed and Marco Jansen going all guns blazing, Tilak had an opportunity to catch him out but in an attempt, banged his head onto the ground. The physiotherapist quickly rushed onto the field and checked Tilak for a possible concussion, but he was soon back on the field for the remaining few deliveries. Tilak, while allaying any fears of a head injury, was delighted after India won the third T20I by 11 runs at the SuperSport Park in Centurion, with Jansen once threatening to take the match away.
“I am okay, the catch came through the lights, so a little difficult but happy for the win. I couldn't imagine and I cannot put it down in words. It was my dream and it was the right time to score a hundred for my team. A kind of a decider in the series," Tilak said at the post-match presentation. The young allrounder produced a batting masterclass while slamming his maiden international century as India posted a huge total of 219/6 batting first. Tilak got ample backing from Abhishek Sharma who made a brisk half-century. He tore into the Protean pacers as he hammered seven sixes and eight boundaries during his knock off a mere 57 deliveries, powering India to their second-highest score against South Africa in T20Is. On his part, Abhishek banished a poor run with the bat with a stroke-laden fifty, scoring 50 off just 25 deliveries laced with five sixes and three boundaries as he and Tilak dazzled with the bat.Thunderstruck ❌
