Hyderabad: A five-storey building in Hyderabad's Siddiq Nagar tilted, causing panic among residents. Reportedly, deep excavation at an adjacent site is the main cause of the incident. Officials will conduct further inspections of the building and its premises. People have been evacuated, and further action will be based on the inspection report.

Grant Road Building CollapseIn a separate incident, a 36-year-old man died after several floor slabs collapsed in a five-storey building in the Grant Road area of south Mumbai on Thursday, civic officials reported. Part of the second floor fell onto the first floor, while part of the first floor fell onto the ground floor. This incident occurred at the United Chambers building, located near the Shalimar Hotel on Maulana Shaukat Ali Road, according to an official. However, a resident claimed that locals were unaware that the victim was inside.The man, identified as Sagar Shivaji Nikam, was rescued from the rubble and taken to the nearby JJ Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, said the news agency PTI. The rescue operation at the site involved personnel from the fire brigade, Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), the police, the local ward office, and the ‘108’ ambulance service.Initially, an official stated that the building had four storeys and included both residential and commercial units. It had been repaired by the state-run Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) about a year and a half ago and appeared to be in good condition, according to the civic official.You may also like
