The trailer for actor Mohanlal's directorial debut Barroz 3D – Guardian of Treasure was unveiled on November 19, Tuesday. The film is all set to release in cinemas worldwide on December 25. Presented as a virtual 3D trailer, it begins with a voiceover introducing a special ghost said to reside in the da Gama Palace. The trailer then reveals Mohanlal as Barroz, a protector who defends the palace's hidden riches from intruders. It later shifts focus to a teenage girl named Isabella, showcasing her adventures and her bond with Barroz. The film promises to be a visually captivating 3D spectacle.

About BarrozBarroz is a period fantasy film based on Jijo Punnoose's novel Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure. The plot revolves around the character Barroz who has been safeguarding Vasco da Gama's hidden treasure for over four centuries. Alongside Mohanlal, the cast includes Maya, Cesar Lorente Raton, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Tuhin Menon, Guru Somasundaram, and others. A few months ago, a behind-the-scenes video was released, featuring Mohanlal directing the film on set and showcasing the extensive production design and the world of Barroz. Shot in immersive 3D, the film features music composed by Lydian Nadhaswaram. Fiercely Ploughing Through Multiple SetbacksDespite setbacks caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the filming of Barroz persisted through challenges, undergoing multiple script revisions and cast changes. The film was originally slated to release on September 12, on the occasion of the Onam season, hence a potential clash with Tovino Thomas' fantasy action flick Ajayante Randam Moshanam. However, the makers had recently announced that the film would not be releasing on Onam as planned, but would only release later until the release date was finally revealed to be December 25 recently through a special video in which director Fazil made official announcement.
