A heart-warming trend has taken over TikTok in which people in the United States are leaving money inside baby food packets in supermarkets. Called 'she deserved the purse' trend, it has seen thousands of users participating and posting videos on TikTok.
What Started The Trend? The trend originated from a viral photo posted by TikTok user Danesha Gonzalez. While shopping in a supermarket, Gonzalez spotted an expensive purse in the baby product section and uploaded a photo of it with the caption 'she deserved the purse.'The photo depicts the dilemma mothers face while raising children and how they sacrifice their desires to prioritise the child - or, at least, that's how Gonzalez interpreted it while captioning it 'she deserved the purse.'Soon, the photo racked up over 20 million views, and social media users could easily relate to it. TikTokers Make It A TrendRising living costs in the US are a reality - and users on TikTok were able to sympathize with mothers struggling financially to raise their children. Soon, a social media initiative sparked, in which several videos surfaced of people placing dollar bills and gift cards in baby food packets, diaper packets, and other baby products. TikToker Julia Knapp's viral video (@julieknapppp), explaining the significance of the phrase “she deserved the purse,” has garnered over 1.3 million views. The video has accumulated more than 84,000 likes.
