Who Is William Owen Scharf? Trump Picks Election Fraud Case Attorney As White House Staff Secretary

President-elect Donald Trump announced on Saturday that William Owen Scharf would be serving as his White House Staff Secretary in his second term. Scharf was the attorney who fought the Election fraud case against Trump. "Will is a highly skilled attorney who will be a crucial part of my White House team," Trump said in an emailed statement. "He has played a key role in defeating the Election Interference and Lawfare waged against me, including by winning the Historic Immunity Decision in the Supreme Court," he added. Trump's statement then continued, "Will has served as a federal prosecutor, worked diligently to confirm Judges and Justices during my first term, clerked for two Federal Appeals Court Judges, and was an award winning graduate at Harvard Law School and Magna Cum Laude at Princeton. Will is going to make us proud as we Make America Great Again."The contender , Scharf along with another lawyer from Missouri, former Missouri Solicitor General D. John Sauer were part of Trump's legal team in the case. Both asserted that Trump should be immune from punishment as he faces multiple accusations, including federal charges for his involvement in attempting to reverse his electoral loss in 2020, The Star reported. During that time Trump was also accused of unlawfully retaining sensitive data after leaving office. The president-elect has been announcing positions for his upcoming cabinet over the past few days. He recently named Robert F Kennedy Jr to head the Department of Health and Human Services. Alongside, Trump also announced Matt Gaetz as the Attorney General ,Karoline Leavitt as the White House press secretary, Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defence and Susie Wiles as White House Chief of Staff.
