Mumbai: The city woke up to a refreshing chill on Wednesday morning, with temperatures dipping to 20.4 degrees Celsius — nearly 1.2 degrees Celsius below the seasonal average. However, the city is set to experience slightly warmer weather today, starting with a misty and foggy morning. This dip in temperature brought a welcome change after the previous day's minimum of 21.4 degrees Celsius, as recorded by the IMD Santacruz observatory.According to IMD officials, although the city is unlikely to see a further dip in temperatures, the mornings are expected to remain pleasant for the next few days.
Morning Chill vs. Daytime HeatWhile the mornings have brought relief, the daytime temperatures have stayed relatively high. The IMD Santacruz observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 36.1 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, which was 2.2 degrees Celsius above the usual maximum for this time of year. Similarly, the IMD Colaba observatory reported a maximum of 33.8 degrees Celsius, which was 0.3 degrees Celsius higher than average. Experts believe that daytime temperatures will decrease slightly in the next four to five days due to a change in wind directions. Air Quality and Historical Weather RecordsDespite the warmer afternoons, the city’s air quality remained in the moderate category with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 131 on Wednesday. Historical weather records show that the highest temperature ever recorded in Mumbai in November was 37.6 degrees Celsius, back in 2018, while the coldest night in the same month was a chilly 13.3 degrees Celsius in 1950. Mumbai Weather Forecast Mumbai's weather forecast for the upcoming week indicates a mix of clear skies and occasional misty mornings. Today, fog or mist is expected in the morning, followed by mainly clear skies, with temperatures rising slightly to a high of 36 degrees Celsius.The trend of misty mornings continues on 15th November, with partly cloudy skies later in the day and temperatures staying steady between 25 degrees Celsius and 36 degrees Celsius. The following days, from 16th to 19th November, will see mainly clear conditions, with daytime highs around 34-36 degrees Celsius. Notably, the mornings are expected to remain cooler, with minimum temperatures gradually dropping from 24 degrees Celsius to 21 degrees Celsius by the end of the week.You may also like
