You Can Now Go On A Tiger Safari At Jaipur's Nahargarh Biological Park

Jaipur, the Pink City of India, is synonymous with regal palaces, imposing forts and vibrant bazaars. Now, it’s adding another feather to its cap with an exciting new attraction for wildlife enthusiasts: a tiger safari in the Nahargarh Biological Park. Located at the foothills of the Aravalli Range, on the fringes of the city on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, this sprawling reserve offers a thrilling opportunity to see majestic tigers up close in their natural habitat, further enriching Rajasthan's wildlife tourism scene.

The Nahargarh Biological Park, already a popular spot for nature lovers, is home to diverse species, including leopards, deer, and a wide variety of birds. Spanning 720 hectares, it already features a popular lion safari over 30 hectares. The addition of the tiger safari is expected to significantly boost tourist numbers, according to officials. As per reports, three tigers will be initially released into the park - tigress Bhakti from Pune, Chameli and Gulab from Nagpur. There will be four tourist vehicles, each equipped with safety cages, to transport visitors through the safari area, offering close encounters with the tigers. "The safari area spans 32 hectares and has been designed with figure-eight tracks, making it easy for vehicles to navigate while offering excellent viewing opportunities," reports quoted an official. "Each vehicle has a seating capacity of 20, and the safari will last one hour."

Unlike Ranthambore and Sariska, the two established tiger reserves in Rajasthan, Nahargarh's tiger safari offers a more accessible option for tourists and locals in Jaipur, and is poised to become a major draw for the heritage city’s tourism industry, offering a new experience alongside the city’s historical and cultural attractions.
