Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher has recently taken to social media to address a distressing incident involving one of his former students on an Air India flight. On September 29, 2024, Kher posted a message on X (formerly Twitter), urging the airline to take immediate action after a woman who he mentioned was a student at his academy, discovered a cockroach in the meal served to her and her toddler during their journey.
The woman, Suyesha Savant, had already shared her shocking experience online, detailing how her 2-year-old child had consumed half of the omelette before they noticed the insect, which led to food poisoning for the toddler.
Suyesha Savant's ordeal began when she uploaded images and videos on X, showing the dead cockroach nestled within the omelette served on the flight from Delhi to New York. In her original post, she stated, "Found a cockroach in the omelette served to me on the @airindia flight from Delhi to New York. My 2-year-old finished more than half of it with me when we found this. Suffered from food poisoning as a result" .
Her alarming revelation quickly garnered attention, prompting Kher to advocate for her cause.
In his response, Kher expressed his concern for Savant and emphasized that she is not someone who typically complains. He wrote, "Dear @airindia! Everybody knows I love everything about India. Including #AirIndia. Ms @suyeshasavant is an ex-student of @actorprepares. And not someone who complains easily. She must have really gone through a huge trauma because of her small baby involved here" . Kher urged Air India to ensure that Savant's return journey would be "comfortable and special" in order to help restore her faith in the airline.
