Karma on collaborations with Raftaar and others:It shouldn't be a competition; it should be a contribution

Send Push
Karma has been making waves in the industry with his raw and unbridled sound. Having collaborated with big names like Raftaar and KSHMR, Karma's music his latest album How Much A Rhyme Costs? is an ode to the journey of self-discovery, exploring themes of expectation, perseverance, and authenticity.

Breaking Free from Societal Expectations

Karma's new album delves into the pervasive issue of societal expectations, where individuals are often pressured to conform. "This project talks about a norm that is constant in our society, which is expecting things from people, whether it be favors, apologies, or any sort of profit. Instead of addressing any specific social issue, this project speaks of a regular boy who is just starting out and celebrating the journey," he explains.

Igniting the Fighter Within

Through his lyrics, Karma aims to inspire listeners to tap into their inner strength. "I want listeners to take inspiration from my music," he emphasizes. "There is a fighter in all of us, and I would love to ignite that spark in my audience."

Staying True to the Art

Karma's creative philosophy revolves around keeping his music raw and authentic. "The theme or message is clear: stay true to this art form," he asserts, adding, " I keep my music raw, just like my lifestyle, and I want everyone to stay true to this art form when they create music and when they listen to it."

Collaborations that Resonate

Karma's experience working with Raftaar and KSHMR has been seamless. "Collaborating with both of these artists has been wonderful," he shares. "I've known Raftaar for a long time. Raftaar is like a brother. I know what he is capable of as an artist, and every time an artist like him gets an opportunity, they kill it. And KSHMR is a humble and talented soul. I knew his impact on the music scene, from using his samples to him coming down and producing for me—it’s come full circle. I can’t be more honored to be on a track with him."

The Art of Collaboration

For Karma, successful collaborations hinge on organic connections and shared mindsets. "It shouldn't be a competition; it should be a contribution," he notes.
He explains, "Collaboration should be organic. It should sound like a collaboration. The art should contribute, and the mindset of the artists should match. And of course, the intent matters. The intent behind the collaboration is crucial, with the art speaking for itself."

Dream Collaborations

When asked about his ideal collaborator, Karma emphasizes the importance of finding the right fit. "You should have a sense of which artist will suit the track or the beat," he says. The possibilities are endless, and the art will reveal itself.
