Tom Felton makes emotional tribute to co-star maggie Smith after death

*Harry Potter* actor Tom Felton has penned an emotional tribute to his late co-star, Dame Maggie Smith, after her death on September 27, 2024. Felton however, composed this moving tribute to his co-star, reflecting on the great impact she made on him and the entire Harry Potter cast on social media.

Felton posted a quite poignant note, along with a still from one of their scenes, saying he was "devastated" and that Smith "is one of a kind." He thanked her for guiding them since the beginning of their journey on the sets of *Harry Potter*. Felton chanced to remember that time when, during one of Smith's transfiguration classes, he could not help but burst out in laughter, and yet Smith kept him on set. He ended his tribute with, "Thank you for showing us the way. Raise your wands x."

However, Felton was not alone in paying tribute to the legendary actress. Another co-star of his from the *Harry Potter* series, Rupert Grint, was also quick to pay homage to Maggie Smith. Grint said he feels quite heart-broken and remembered her as funny and very kind. He said he was lucky enough to have shared a dance with her sometime while filming and told her she would be missed dearly. He sent love to her family while they were going through this hard time.

The star of "Fantastic Four" Emma Watson, who worked also opposite Smith in the *Harry Potter* saga, posted her thoughts on Instagram. In her childhood, she admitted that she did not really understand how great an actress this woman was. But as a growing adult, she discovered the best talent of her life and felt honored to work with such a great artist. Watson described Smith as absolutely real, genuine, and funny, saying that how strong and powerful her presence was among a heavily male cast. She thanked Smith for kindness and said she was going to miss her so much.

Maggie Smith has been mourned with tears by fans and fellow actors across the world. A good number of *Harry Potter* fans took to social networks to air their condolences, giving testimonies on how much her performances influenced them. Her passing has reminded one and all of the phenomenal legacy she left behind, not just in the cherished *Harry Potter* films but through her long and glittering career.

As for many, Smith's memory is tied to her role as Professor McGonall in the *Harry Potter* series, but that is just one of the several examples in film and TV work that have filled several decades of her career. Some of the most popular films and shows she has worked on are *Sister Act*, *The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie*, *The Secret Garden*, *Downton Abbey*, *The Lady in the Van*, and *A Room with a View*. Smith left his print on the entertainment business with talent, warmth, and wit-dedicated to his fans and colleagues at large.
