NEW DELHI: Home minister Amit Shah Monday reviewed the situation in Manipur and took stock of deployment of security forces there, in the second round of deliberations over the past two days.
The review meeting came even as home ministry rushed another 5,000 CAPF personnel to handle the escalation in protests and ethnic violence. This is in addition to the 2,000 CAPF personnel sent to the state a few days ago.
Shah, as per sources, directed CAPF officials and the state police to take all possible steps to expeditiously restore peace and public order in the state.
