NEW DELHI: Industry veteran Arvinder Singh Sahney has been appointed as the new chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IndianOil). With nearly 30 years of experience in the field, Sahney takes the helm at a crucial time for the energy giant.
Sahney's journey with IndianOil began in 1993 after graduating as a chemical engineer from HBTI, Kanpur. He has held various high-ranking positions within the company, gaining experience in refinery operations, technical services, and the petrochemical sector.
Notably, he played a key role in the commissioning of the 15 MMTPA Paradip Refinery , a project that majorly boosted India's refining capacity. Before his appointment as chairman, Sahney was responsible for leading IndianOil's petrochemical division .
In addition to his new role, Sahney also holds the position of chairman at Terra Clean Limited , an IndianOil subsidiary dedicated to sustainable solutions. He is also on the board of directors for IndOil Montney Ltd, IndianOil's wholly-owned subsidiary based in Canada.
