NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday said that the Indian perspective on development embraces harmony with nature while Western developmental approaches that seek to dominate natural resources.
He furthersaid that India needs to create its own developmental frameworks that could serve as global examples at inaugural session of “VIVIBHA-2024: Vision for Viksit Bharat ,” the three-day National Researchers Conference organized by “Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal- Yuva Aayam” at SGT University, Gurugram.
"Development is not possible without education, but this education should be Bharat-centric. We should take good ideas from around the world but never be blind followers. It is the responsibility of teachers to guide researchers for research which is based on the Bharatiya knowledge system," said Dr Bhagwat.
The event, organised by "Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal- Yuva Aayam," featured distinguished speakers including ISRO Chairman S Somanath and Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, who shared insights with university researchers nationwide about achieving Viksit Bharat.
S Somanath highlighted the significance of the next 25 years in India's journey towards "Viksit Bharat". "Research is quite important to realise the vision of Viksit Bharat as it enhances the capacity and capability of industries, start-ups, academia, agriculture and health sector besides many more areas," said Somnath.
He also highlighted the importance of linking research and innovation across various sectors. Regarding ISRO's future plans, Dr Somanath said "we have touched the Moon and further we want to have missions on Mars, Venus, and other planets in the future."
Nobel Laureate Dr Kailash Satyarthi appreciated BSM-Yuva Aayam's organisation of VIVIBHA 2024 and said that this conference is initiation of a yajna that will enlighten the whole world.
He advocated for adopting an Indian developmental approach that encompasses individual growth, community progress, and universal advancement. "We should find a model of development which includes individual as well as universal aspiration of development," he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Sachchidanand Joshi, Akhil Bhartiya Adhyaksh, Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal expressed his thoughts and encouraged young researchers to help establish Bharat as a Vishwa Guru through their research endeavours.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Padmashree Ram Bahadur Rai, President of IGNCA and Chancellor-SGT University, Dr Bharat Sharan Singh, Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Private University Regulatory Commission, alongside various Vice-Chancellors, institutional heads, academics and researchers.
The opening ceremony featured a comprehensive exhibition where numerous educational institutions, both public and private, alongside research organisations, displayed their innovations focusing on Bharatiya Education , Vision for Viksit Bharat and Future Technology. The exhibition showcased the progression of Bharatiya education from traditional Gurukuls to modern technological implementations, featuring displays ranging from Chatrapati Shivaji's period weaponry to the contemporary BrahMos of the Indian Air Force.
Scheduled from November 15th to November 17th, 2024, the National Researchers Conference, themed "Research to Realisation", represents a crucial initiative towards achieving Viksit Bharat. The programme includes six plenary sessions and 11 parallel sessions designed for researcher development. Selected participants will receive opportunities for academic publications and internships at "Institutes of National Importance".
The preparatory phase of VIVIBHA 2024 saw BSM-Yuva Aayam engaging with more than 10 lakh students and researchers, alongside over one lakh educators from approximately 10,000 educational establishments throughout the previous year. Their "Research Paper Writing Competition" attracted 1,68,771 student registrations. Following expert assessment, 1200 research papers were chosen from various states for VIVIBHA 2024, with state-level selected participants receiving certificates.
