Madhya Pradesh: 10 killed, over 25 injured in bus-truck collision in Maihar

BHOPAL: Around 10 persons were reportedly killed and more than 25 injured in a major road accident near Maihar district of Madhya Pradesh late Saturday night. The accident occurred in the Nadan Dehat police station area on National Highway No. 30, involving a passenger bus from Aabha Travels and a parked truck.

According to local media, the bus was travelling from Prayagraj to Nagpur via Rewa when it rammed into the parked vehicle near Chaurasia Dhaba. Rescue operations are ongoing, with efforts to extricate the deceased and injured being carried out using a JCB and gas cutters.

Police sources say that the accident occurred around 11.15 PM. While the exact number of casualties is still being verified, the injured are being transported to Maihar Civil Hospital, with six seriously injured individuals referred to Satna for further treatment.

Maihar SP Sudhir Agarwal said, "The bus was going from Prayagraj to Nagpur. The accident occurred when the bus collided with a dumper parked on the roadside."
